The Grand Carnival: On the Road Kickstarter Preview

There's only one more day left to back The Grand Carnival: On The Road. Do I think you should back it? Yes, yes I do. Here's why. It adds not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, not 5, not 6, but 7 new modules to the game! You can integrate them all in one or play individually with them. There's also the Get This Show On The Road mode which acts as an introduction to the modules. Plus, there's new tricks of the trade that integrate with them and a score tracker. So what are these modules you ask?

1. Peanuts: These will let you add to your worker value.

2. Golden Tickets: Collect these when a guest stops next to a barker.

3. Clowns: Overpay for an attraction and collect a clown.

4. Enormous Attractions: Pay with peanuts to place a size 6 attraction. These count as two attractions of any size.

5. Double Foundations: Start with two tiles already placed on your board.

6. Mini Foundations: When you play a 5 worker, you collect one of these to fill a single spot.

7. Grand Finale: Similar to Tricks of the Trade, but these will score you 10 points at the end of the game.

These modules made an already great game even better for me. Some of them balance the game a little better like the mini foundation tiles. You have a chance to fix mistakes or fill a gap to build something you've been trying to build. I can't imagine playing the game the same way ever again. I love how these make it feel like a completely different game while also keeping the spirit of the original game in tact. I also love that adding in 6 or 7 different modules doesn't feel like a huge lift. You just play the game and place them when you need to. If you're on the fence about backing this, I really can't recommend it enough. The Grand Carnival was a huge surprise for me when I reviewed it and this keeps the momentum.
